There are some fabulous walks from the doorstep: from a gentle exploration of the Norber Erratics near Austwick to the more challenging ascent of Ingleborough - one of the famous Yorkshire Three Peaks. Maps, suggested routes & packed lunches are all available.
- Settle Carlisle Railway
This railway journey is said to be one of the most scenic routes in the world. Let the train take the strain whilst you enjoy the superb views of the Yorkshire Dales. As well as the regular service you can experience the route by steam train (www.westcoastrailways.co.uk and www.statesmanrail.com)
- Scenic Road or Cycle Trips
Explore the Yorkshire Dales by car or cycle - the journey from Ingleton to Hawes or Settle passes all three of the Three Peaks as well as the Ribblehead Viaduct - the views are simply stunning! Continue on into Swaledale via Buttertubs Pass.
- Gardens
If you enjoy visiting other people’s gardens why not try Parcevall Hall, Levens Hall and Lady Arabella Lennox Boyd’s own garden at Gresgarth Hall.
